Frequently asked questions.

Am I eligible for Emsella treatments?

The excellent news is that most people are eligible for Emsella treatments.

Temporarily ineligible - Some people may not be eligible immediately, but will become eligible. This includes women who are pregnant so they’re not eligible, but after they birth their baby and recover for a few weeks, they become eligible. The same for women with a copper coil which makes them ineligible, but when they decide to have it removed, they become eligible.

Permanently ineligible - Sadly there are some people who aren’t able to receive Emsella treatments. This includes those with cardiac pacemakers, implanted defibrillators, metal implants in the chest, torso or pelvis including those who have had total hip replacements. People with epilepsy are also ineligible.

Can I receive Emsella treatment if I have other metal implants?

Metal implants in your feet, ankles, elbows and other locations are okay and you will still be a suitable candidate for Emsella treatments.

Is treatment painful?

No! Emsella treatments are painless and you remain fully clothed the entire time! Some people don’t notice the muscle contractions, while others find it mildly uncomfortable. We will work with you to ensure you remain on a low level setting until you feel comfortable to increase the strength of the muscle workouts.

How does Emsella work?

The Emsella chair works by delivering focused high intensity electromagnetic energy to all of your pelvic floor muscles, essentially creating a strong 28 minute workout for all of those muscles, encouraging new cell growth in the muscles, increasing blood flow and of course increasing pelvic floor strength, thus lifting everything back up to where it should be, and adequately supporting your pelvic organs and preventing pelvic organ prolapse.
